Professional looking baseboard installation can be achieved with a compound miter saw that can cut 45 degree corner angles at the molding ends. However when installing the baseboard later painting and applying caulk can be a more tedious task to avoid mixing it in the carpet. Try adding painters tape over the baseboard for protection.
