Side wall grab bars should be at least 42 inches in length with one end 12 inches or less away from the wall behind the toilet and one end at least 54 inches away from that wall.

Rear wall grab bars shall be 36 915 mm long and mounted so 24 610 mm are to the transfer side of the toilet and the other 12 305 mm to the wall side.
